Elopement means leaving the house and wandering away from a safe and reliable environment such as home or school.
Autistic people may have difficulty communicating and social interactions, and some may even have an intellectual disorder.
In most sources, Elopement is included in the category of behavioral challenges and is not a single diagnostic disorder. For this reason, little information is available in this field. Child therapists do not know much about the subject despite the many dangers of Elopement.
